Abstract

 

The reason for this research is that in the thesis students express their thoughts in the form of arguments for scientific development. However, students often experience difficulties in writing arguments so that the arguments they make do not show quality. The evolution of generations has a major impact on changes in the field of education, especially in the learning and teaching process. It is important to understand the basic needs and differences across generations in developing pedagogical skills. Currently, the latest generation that plays a role in various fields, one of which is education, is known as Generation (Gen) Z. In this regard, the needs of Gen Z in the learning process are different from previous generations. Gen Z is born in 2000 and above, so currently he is and will be studying at a university as a student. This Gen Z student is more active in using social media and websites. Social media and websites have now been used for the benefit of education in general and as a means or learning media. The method in this research is qualitative with content analysis approach. The data in this study are the arguments in writing that come from the thesis of the students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Jambi University. Data collection is done by reading student thesis. Data analysis techniques according to the steps of Miles and Huberman..
